Match IPL 8 2015
As compared to other cricket league tournaments, IPL is different in respect that players are auctioned by the teams. This year, total 67 players were sold out in the auction by different teams while the most expensive player was Yuvraj Singh who was purchased by Delhi Daredevils for 16 crore Indian rupee. There are 26 officials in the tournament including 13 Indian umpires and 4 match referees.
There are total 12 venues that will host the IPL 8 matches. Apart from primary home grounds, few teams also have secondary home grounds. Eden Gardens Kolkata will host the Pepsi IPL 8 2015 Final Match.
There are total 8 teams in the tournament this year. Kolkata Knight Riders team will defend the title while Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, Rajasthan Royals and Deccan Chargers (not playing in IPL 8) are the teams who won the IPL title/s previously. The other teams playing in the tournament are Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kings XI Punjab, Delhi Daredevils and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
There will be total 56 matches to be played in the group stage. Every team will play two matches against every other team, one at its home ground and the other at the home ground of its opponent team.
The four top teams of group stage will advance to the next stage which includes two quarter finals and an eliminator match. The final match will be played on 24th May 2015 at Eden Gardens Kolkata.
